Frequently Asked Questions

Tell me more about this charitable aspect.

With Wines for Humanity, we are passionate about two things:  Wine, of course!  But we're also passionate about helping others.  We help others in several ways.

First, we donate a portion out of every tasting we do to a local charity that helps prevent homelessness in families with children.  We want to help those families before they find themselves with a home.

Second, we seek opportunities to help worthy non-profit organizations in our local communities.  Learn more about our fundraising on the Fundraising page.

What is a wine tasting?

A wine tasting is an event where you try different wines, pair them with complimentary appetizers and learn about the wines through a professional wine guide.

As your own personal wine advisor, I will be your tour guide through the wonderfully delicious world of wine.

I will educate you, entertain you, help you impress your friends and family with our fabulous wines, and make your special event one that is remembered fondly by all your guests for a long time to come!

How long can I store a bottle after it's opened?

Your best option is to share a bottle with good friends, pop the cork (love that sound), enjoy, savor and finish it off that night and then order more from your personal wine advisor ... me!!   :)

Ok, if you must ... in general, your optimum characteristics for red are going to be enjoyed before the 2nd day and for whites before the 4th day.  This can vary, but this is a general guideline.  Always store your wines in the refrigerator after opening and bring your reds up to about 55 - 60 degrees before enjoying again.

Can I chill my red wines?

I have guests ask me if it's ok to chill their reds or to put ice cubes in them.  Most red wines are not meant to be chilled.  You generally want to serve them between 55 - 65 degrees if you want to achieve maximum enjoyment of the fantastic aromas, flavors and characteristics.  (Putting the bottle in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes before opening will get it to a nice temperature.)

My motto is and always will be the most important thing about enjoying wine is that you enjoy it.  If you enjoy it best chilled, you're the expert on what you like.  Every once in a while though, try it without that ice cube, with friends, with food and see if you can enjoy it as it is meant to be.

How do I order wine?

The best place to order wine is at your very own wine tasting.  That way you can try these delicious wines with your guests, select your favorites and receive the best deal possible!  Simply CLICK HERE to contact me and set up your event or start your own wine business!
